More about me

As your celebrant I will be getting to know all about you and your relationship, how you met and your life stories. So, I think it’s only fair that I tell you about myself.

Born and bred Queenslander. I moved around a lot as a kid. I spent my formative years in Toowoomba, where I was brought up by my mother and grandmother. I moved to North Queensland in high school with my mum, before moving again, this time to the sunny Gold Coast.

It was then I decided it was time to do some travelling…. this is where my love story begins. I decided to sign up for a working holiday in a remote town in the middle of Canada. A place where the locals are few and far between, let alone the tourists. Strangely enough, this is where my now wife Emma and I first found our spark. Fast forward to 2018 – Emma and I are about to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary.

My wife and I had our wedding in the beautiful Yarra Valley – Seville Hill Winery, it was honestly the greatest day of my life. Now happily married and crazy in love, thinking back on my own wedding and the various other weddings I have been to, the ceremony part of the day always seems to have this stigma around it being boring, uninteresting and just a ‘formality’. I decided that I wanted to have a crack at this celebrant gig, to make weddings fun, relaxed and to really connect with my couples to make their ceremony authentic to their individual personalities and to engage their relationship into actually building a friendship… also maybe pinch a couple sneaky brews and a post-ceremony selfie or two.

Well, if you’ve read this far, thanks for getting to know me a little more.

Cheers,

Samuel
